  Hated the fact that it actually opens at 9:00am on Sundays and not 7:00am as posted on google and the website. Couldn't get my nanaimo bar :( ....I'm sure they are tasty but I couldn't tell you all about it.

  Walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner. Was surprised to learn that most of the pastries were made in house. Decided on a few different ones to split... All of them were amazing.! Spanokapita OMG! They have an old espresso machine that made the perfect espresso beverages! A must visit if ever if Nanaimo! Not to mention they roast their own coffee beans! Such a great place!

  Note: Closed since May 2016, but may reopen soon -- their Facebook page was renamed to Thirsty Spirit Roast House Inc. on 17 Nov 2016. A wonderful little coffee house, with fresh-roasted coffee and their own original-recipe variations on the Nanaimo bar (I love lime). Their veggie sandwich is excellent. Sold just a few months ago, complete with recipes, it was closed down by the new owner not long after, and customers are still waiting for Java Expressions to reopen.
