  The wing are good/very good, decent beer selection, service is well above par. But I must say, the 4 stars is really for the patio!

  Food is just OK. Service is decent, although female staff have to wear skimpy tartan theme outfits - (seriously?) Happy hour cheaped us out with a fast clock - don't expect it to be happening just because the time on your phone tells you it should be.

  I've been putting off writing this review as it's been difficult to know what to say. I think point form is going to be best for this. The good: - beautiful location - delicious food - at least for two of our party (me included) The bad: - oh god, those skirts. It looks like such a nice upscale type place, until you walk up the stairs behind a waitress. Or look the wrong way and get a view when someone bends over to clear a table. It was really uncomfortable and both the men and women in our party commented on it later when discussing our experience. (To contrast, there was only one male staff member spotted during the whole time we were there, behind the bar, wearing a sensible pair of plain black slacks.) We all wondered why such a clever idea (nice looking kilts that were long enough to be practical for the job and location and could be worn by both genders) had been implemented so poorly that - on looking through reviews later - it's instead a fairly common source of complaint. - the service was really slow - like REALLY slow. Our party of six was there for three hours from start to end. We had appies, a main course, and dessert, and the wait between all the courses was agonizingly slow. - the other four people in the party were pretty underwhelmed with what they'd ordered. I turned the issue over in my head for a few weeks after our visit, as for the food and the atmosphere alone, I'd be willing to give the service another try, but the skirts made the whole experience uncomfortable and in addition to the other concerns, mean I probably won't bother going back as there are other very nice places in Nanaimo to eat.
